BunnyCatch

by

BunnyCatch is a simple, procedurally generated, maze based puzzle game where you need to catch all rampant bunnies before the time runs out, by directing them towards their exits.

Bunnies always try to move clockwise!

Click on the ground to place a barrier to force a bunny to go the direction you want, and click a barrier again to remove it.

The game is pretty much complete, it just needs testing!

This project will be an ongoing excercise for me to try out different gameplay ideas, so please continue to give me feedback.

Target platforms: iOS/Android/Windows/OSX
Builds for these platforms could be made on request.

- Sound :)
- Pickups
- Gameplay variations
- Background tile variations
- Proper win/loss screen, it's placeholder atm
- Changes based on feedback from you fine folks

Possible alterations:
- Collision with other bunnies
- Faster initial speed

Mechanics Tutorial/Learning Curve
Cool idea actually!

I really enjoyed it more than I thought it would. The mechanics work quite well for the most part and make sense, although I didn't quite understand when or why I just won a level. Also, if I set down a sign on the same tile as one of the bunnies, I feel like the bunny should change the direction and not keep going.

Also, your game ramps up it's difficulty quite fast with so many bunnies running around at any given time it can be quite confusing. Maybe ease in the difficulty better and start with a maximum of three bunnies at a time and then gradually introduce more bunnies as it goes.

My recommendation: keep doing what you're doing because this could be a lot of fun!

Thank you for playing my game! Your kind words have been a great boost of confidence for me, as I wasn't sure if it was really worth continuing development on this game any more.

I agree with all of your points, balancing is definitely an issue I need to work on, and I do have a plan to tie together successive games with difficulty being raised more gradually, along with pick ups that slightly alter game variables too.

You win by having captured all of the bunnies (the indicator on the top right) before the time has hit 0. There's a lot of work that needs to go into signalling such information to the player.

Thanks again!

Mechanics Tutorial/Learning Curve
This game is highly addictive! Very good work, maybe a tutorial at the beginning would nice to learn to play.

You can improve the game maybe adding "evil bunnies" that you have to avoid to get into the hole, or adding a bunny limit on the screen, this could help to add more frenetism to the game.

Nice work!

Thanks for your review!

I agree with your comments, and I have a plan for something like an "evil bunny" to avoid too.

Mechanics
Hey g9icy,,

Very fun game. A tutorial in not needed. You must learn by playing it and it learns very well. I don't have any worse thing to say about the game. More levels would be finen maybe.

Good work!

Controls Mechanics
Apart from the graphics that are very pleasing to the eye, I liked the laid back simplicity of the controls. What needs more work are the mechanics. The gameplay is way too repetitive to increase replayability. More levels, with more environmental objects to increase unpredictability, such as rabbit holes that take rabbits from one spot to another in the level would be nice.
One other thing that could spice things up would be a variety of objects to place, apart from obstacles. A carrot, to lure rabbits towards a spot of the level, a pit of mud to slow them down, etc.

Don't get me wrong, the game is just fine as it is, I just don't know how long it could keep me playing before I lose interest.
