Fun little game. I found the controls to be really awkward though. I much prefer WASD instea of arrow keys. seems like it would benefit from having a kill floor too so you don't have to press R to reset. I loved that it was linked to a browser build in itch.io, really fast to just click and play)
2 years agoThis was ok to play. Needs a lot of improvement though
- I couldn't rotate camera(or wasn't given the information on how to)
-The UI for Pause and Score were half off the screen for me and there was a touch controller pressent even though I was on pc (very easy to disable that when a mouse click is detected)
- I hope this helps you to make improvements
Hi, thanks for the great feedback, really appreciated.
I’ve sorted the camera moving outside the area just not updated it yet.
Never thought of using WASD, I’ll implement that next.
How do you mean with the UI? The options and controls menu? They are just temporary, the buttons I think are ok though. The new update will have a level select and unlockables for completing levels within a certain time.
Fun Game once I understood it.
Things I think need improvement are;
-There is a lot of errors with the tutorial txt e.g "because than there" and "move an white block"
- On the level select screen I think you should beable to just click on the level to play it and I think Play and Back to Main should be the other way around
-In the Game, I dont think moving the camera is neccesary, If the UI were On the sides of the screen I wouldn't of had to move the camera at all
- Using right mouse to go back after clicking on a ball would of been really handy
Thanks for the feedback, really appreciated. I thought about using the Z axis but decided it would make the game too difficult(might add in later levels). How do you mean the “the yellows got stuck”? Like you mention, I plan to make levels incorporating that mechanic of them colliding. I’m working on altering the textures slightly (the yellows are done) I think it needs to be like graph paper though as the blocks lock to a grid and in later levels you need to be pretty precise, ideas are welcome though. I plan on remaking and polishing the level complete screen, options menu and adding unlockables to the level select, also in the process of finishing the start screen. Are those what you think need the attention?
Thanks again
I,ve just tested to see if I can get the same results and I can't on pc. I know on iphone the triggers to stop you rotating objects when something is in the way don,t work. what platform were you on?
I had a look at that game and I see what you mean. I'll try some other textures and see how it looks and Plays. Thanks again
Thanks for the feedback. Glad you like it, the difficulty is the hardest thing for me to get right so glad you mentioned it. Lvl 10 is a bit tricky but fair I think, a little trial and error needed. What platform were you playing it on? I know the blocks glitch on iPhone atm but it seems fine on my pc. Thanks again, much apreciated
2 years agoIts a fun game but the levels seem too long and with not much variety. The 1st boss was interesting. it looks good but the jump clouds look odd and stick out. I would look at the mario games for inspiration and to see what set them apart in regards to level design. good luck.
1 year agoSeems interesting, reminded me of Allundra.
I didn't get too far as using the arrow keys to move literaly hurts my hand(much prefer WASD)
The Good
-It looks nice and the animations with characters and and things look really good
-the world seemed well made
-The music fits it really well
The Bad
- Had to open an extra file to find out the buttons (assumed it was (WASD or the game would tell me)
-I wasn't much for the opening bit with just the ball and black screen
- The Sounds for interacting with things and reading txt seem too loud compared with everything else
-Glitch lines kept appearing when I was walking around
It seems interesting and I would of happily carried on if the controls suited me.
I Played for around 10 minutes (not my genre). I died about 8 minutes in after the second checkpoint. I died because Jump only has 1 height. I was expecting to tap the button and go about half full height( like Mario).
-I didn't know what those flying shield things were that dissapeared when you shoot them.
-I thought the enemies would look better if they didn't look so alike.
-I thought the difficulty was easy until the floating platform over spikes(I would have done it probably 3rd or 4th attempt)
- The main thing for me was the jump being all or nothing.
-The graphics look really good
I hope that helps
The Graphics Are really good!
I didn't like how the camera quickly snaps forward sometimes. I stopped playing when I got pretty far and then had to go all the way back to the start when I died. It also seemed too hard for a first section( the first door you come across)
A few checkpoints, smooth camera, and lower difficulty and I would have played a lot longer. Looks great apart from those things to me.
