A 2D action, arcade game that blends Breakout with RPG mechanics. You play a knight storming a castle saving a princess from the clutches of an evil dragon rumored to have kidnapped her. Armed with your magical flail and spikey ball, you fight hordes of fantasy-themed evil creatures in a satirical setting.

Use "A" and "D" to move left and right, "Space" to shoot the ball and "1" for a ghost ball special attack (uses 2 mana).

First version to post.

  • Fixing a few bugs.
  • Full wave system support
  • New types of enemies
  • New levels
  • Polished boss mechanics.
  • Finish the special attacks.

Animation UI Graphics
Toodles, Vallar! o/

Just played Castle Mashers. I'm new to this whole roasting thing, but here's my best shot:

Title screen UI needs improvement. The game is obviously WIP, but a quick background texture would work wonders.

The Settings button didn't bring up any settings. Not sure if this is a glitch or a feature yet to be implemented.

Nice flail particles. They gave a sense of superiority when compared to the effect-less skeletons.

The controls were possibly a little unbalanced for my taste. I could see myself getting used to them eventually, but a slider to adjust manoeuvrability might counter the "new shoes" feel that new players might get.

At one point, after I'd defeated the first wave of several, the next lot of enemies/boxes failed to load. I'm not sure if I beat the game, if the level was WIP, or if there was any procedural generation hiccup.

Overall, with a few things ironed out and maybe an upgrade system, I could definitely see myself playing this regularly on my android device. Great work so far, keep it up! [;)]

Hey bionicle_fanatic,

Thanks a lot for the roast. I agree with your feedback, the game has a lot of bugs (some of which were fixed in later private builds). At the current moment we are working to polish the UI and the game mechanics. There are no more "new shoes" feel at all for example.

Hopefully the new version once done would feel much better and more fun.

Again, thanks a lot for your help ^_^

Mechanics Controls
Graphics are decent for a WIP, the character needs to accelerate a LOT slower. It has a lot of potential though. Looking forward to seeing more of this.

Thank you very much for your feedback. The new version has that fixed a long with a few more tweaks. Hopefully we'd be able to update the game soon with a better build :).

PS: I tried to play your game but I have no controllers :/
