Playable on Mobile and Desktop at Staroyale.io

Description:

Staroyale is a Multiplayer online sci-fi shooter. It is a game of skill, luck, and perseverance. In Staroyale players pilot their starship in one of several modes, including Team Death-Match, Battle Royale, and Free for all. Faced with the task of taking on a whole armada of enemy starships, players must make use of the intuitive controls, upgrade their ships, skills unique to each starship, and an interactive environment to take down enemy ships or risk being destroyed. Choose a ship and loadout that best suits your play style as each ship comes with its own set of passive and active skills, allowing for different play styles and strategies, with not just one way to victory.

By playing more games, players can unlock more unique ships with a different set of passive and active skills to dominate the battlefield. players can also collect unique essences and power up their ship with those essences.

Controls

(WASD) to steer ship
Q to user skill
Left-click to shoot, Middle click to send Emoji.
(1,2) to swap between weapons
(4) to use consumable
(G) to throw items
(F) to force pickup weapons.

The update includes ship upgrade system!

By playing the game users collect "essence" which are used to customize and upgrade ships. Each essence is different in what it affects from weapon type damage to increasing a ship's overall health.

2v2 is currently undergoing maintenance to help users join into the same game.

Creating a system that allows users to invite their friends to lobby so they can continuously play together rather than just trying to load in at the same time.

Working to fix the tips so they do not pop up and cover joystick on mobile devices

Physics Controls
The physics and overall Gameplay I really enjoy! It looks like gravity affects shooting and ships when you get close to big planets which I think is really cool and the environmental damage is a nice touch. However I was playing on mobile and sometimes the tips would pop up over my joystick and were tips clearly meant for the desktop version. Overall very cool game!

Animation Tutorial/Learning Curve
The game is quite okay to have fun with, the animation is good the game is enjoyable to play. The tutorial are not really that helpful, so I think that's my opinion right there.

Hey really appreciate your take! Is there anything specific about the tutorial that is not useful? Or anything we could add that would make it more meaningful for new players?

Mechanics Controls
Let me start by saying, I like this game. I have a bunch of opinions here, so take them or leave them.

Main menu UI is a bit busy and takes some getting used to. Maybe have a few sub menus, like a hanger... honestly, if you could get the number of buttons down to 10, that would be an improvement (may have to do some nesting).
When I middle click to emote, I shouldn't have to be directly on the button, but pointing in the direction of it. same with heal menus.
Using the mouse wheel might be a nice way to switch weapons.
Want things I destroy to explode / leave pieces behind rather than shrink.
Recoil was a nice touch on firing. Consider camera shakes as well (just slight).
Shift should make me "sprint", space bar should be "ship special".
Minimap should probably be in bottom left or bottom right (per convention).

If you have anything to add about ways we can improve the game that would be appreciated! It doesn't require you to download anything! If you provide any sort of recommendations I would happily check out your posted game and support!

Physics Tutorial/Learning Curve
I really like the concept! The tutorial in the beginning is a little long and takes a little too long to get into the meat of the game. Really awesome physics, models, and effects. On pc using the Q button is a little awkward and shift would be easier as mentioned above. It did seem a little jittery on PC so it could optimization issues maybe?

Thank you! We are actually working on the tutorial right now, making it shorter and more related to the actual gameplay! And we are definitely looking at switching it to the space bar! What are your specs if you dont mind me asking?
