Lithobius

by

Lithobius is a nonlinear, exploration-based 2D platformer (Metroidvania) set on Kezoron, a "seemingly desolate planet" with a history you will soon discover. You are a woman named Armis Venandi, who is in a tank exploring the underground maze of this planet. You will encounter giant, carnivorous bugs that want to destroy your tank and eat you alive. Among these monstrocities are giant termites, beetles, ants, moths, and spiders, though there are more to discover.

As you explore the game world, you will find new weapons and upgrades for your tank. Find armor upgrades to increase your hit points, bomb upgrades to increase your bomb capacity, spatial data disks to add data to your in-game map, and machine parts for a surprise if you find all six. There are six locations to explore, ten enemy types, four bosses, and multiple save tents for saving your progress. Lithobius has both keyboard support and controller support.

This solo-project was created using Multimedia Fusion 2. I made all of the assets myself using only gray colors. I am definetly not a pixel art or animation expert, so any feedback on those matters is definetly welcome. This is my first large-scale game, so feel free to leave any critisisms. Thank you very much for your time, and I hope you enjoy playing Lithobius.

Lithobius also has a Deviant Art page:

10/27/2020 Note: The soundtrack is coming along well. Hopefully I can have the final version of Lithobius (v1.1) posted in a couple weeks.

9/20/2020 Note: Lithobius now has a Deviant Art Page.

7/17/2020 Note: I apologize for the long time it has been taking to finish this game up. I have been fairly burnt out on it lately. Plus, I also began development on something else. I will keep this page updated.

4/19/2020 Note: Development on this game is still happening. I have already added plenty of paralax-scrolling backgrounds to help bring the game world to life. I am also adding story-elements.
