NOTE: This game is Discontinued. I'm not sure I still have the source files. For my recent projects, check my profile.A Simple Cute Game where youcontrol a cloud and rain on trees, while avoiding the wind and collecting clouds to grow.
"White Room Journal" is a short 5 minutes Visual Novel about a girl in a hospital and her weekly meetings with the player character. I developed this project to practice making a visual novel with Ren'py. Tagged "Simulation" but there sould be a Visual Novel or Text Adventure tag in this site!!!
Thanks for the feedback. I always add the sound effects as the last thing in my projects because I'm not into sound design, and when I posted CLOUDY here, it was in early stages compared to what was planned.
Even I, playing it now, I feel that it was too slow in the beginning. I'll take that in mind when I make a new game.
I discontinued this project a few years ago. I most likely have lost the source codes for this game, but if you'd like you might want to check my other project here. (Check my profile.)
Thanks for the feedback. While I have thought about the sound effects, I always leave them last in my projects because I'm not into sound design. But the idea of parallax never crossed my mind. Thanks.
I discontinued CLOUDY project shortly after posting it on this site, I'm not even sure if any of the source files is saved anymore. I learned a lot while making it and more since then. The small things truly add to the enjoyment and I'll put that in mind for my next works.
Speaking about other works. If you'd like you might want to check my other project on my profile on Roastmygame.com, I improved since then.
Thanks again for the feedback~
Thanks. The reason I decided to make it in the first place because I thought the idea was cool. I wasn't sure how to make it good to play though. I wish I took more time adjusting the gameplay, but I'm not sure if I have the source codes for this project anymore...
If you'd like you might want to check my other project(s) here. (Check my profile, I already added one of them before replying.)
Thanks again for the feedback.
While I was working on the project, I didn't think of other ways it could be expaned on other than trees? I thought I might add a storm or something? Not sure... I used to have source codes for CLOUDY somewhere safe, but I'm not sure I have them anymore, so the project is discontinued.
Thanks for the feedback, if you like, you might want to check my other project here.
I loved the visuals of this game as well as the idea.
Is the level procedurally generated? I felt like it changes slightly between runs, if that's what happening it's good that it doesn't change drastically.
As of the moment, I only played on Android using the touch-screen:
I didn't know how to control the player character at first. For two 20-second runs of the game, I was only able to move left. The right side of the screen had multiple buttons. (Jump, Crouch, Accelerate, Shoot,) and so, it blocked what I felt the place of the screen I should touch to move right.
I was clicking at the right side of the screen away from the buttons and nothing happens. Then I realized, the left side of the screen doesn't only move left, but
I recommend adding subtle hints that the controls work this way. For example, you could make the joystick visible but transparent when the player doesn't interact with the screen for a few seconds, or add a tutorial at the start. Or do both... Do both!!!
Jumping in this game feels floaty, for me that doesn't feel good unless the game makes me think it's intentional (e.g. Kingdom Hearts has a totally intentional floaty battle system.)
I don't usually play my games on touch screen, so I don't know if there are still other problems in the controls. If this game supports Gamepad, I'll probably try it again and see how it controls without the touch screen.
I liked the Gunfire Background SFX, I thought maybe it'll be better if it was a lower so that it'll feel like the fight is further away and not distract from the current battle. But without comparing I won't know if it'll be better for sure. Might want to play test that. No complains about the sound design.
Good Luck~
